Welcoming Something New
I have BOYTALk 4 you,
Is it me or is this week only getting better. Its been Twenty Weeks, and I’m still single. The sun’s out, summers awaiting and the semester is almost over folks. This months been all about distraction’s, and Im surprisingly enjoying the beginning of my twenty’s, entering it single and ready to mingle. Love’s truly a game for lost souls, its like the lottery, a complete gamble. So far at the age of Twenty I’m learning to stay true to myself, without letting anyone hold me back from my true potential. Bringing me to the lessons I’ve learned from dating to life-style changes.
If you aren’t confident about yourself, and who you are maybe soul searching is something you should look for. Find interests around your community and school. Figure out yourself bit by bit, loving the moments you spend with yourself. Loving myself has always been my number one priority, because happiness is a great feeling. Some advice tips include: Giving yourself positive feedback, smiling more, and doing what you love. So get out, and show some loving.
Love at first sight : REALLY?
The biggest myth on dating is the big “is he/she the one?” question. When you’re going out on a date, block every single perception you have on this person. You should be worrying about nothing but being yourself in the truest form. One thing I’ve learned from dating is not to give yourself high hopes, because theres someone out there that will eventually see you for the amazing person you are. Think of it like an interview, just a bit more intimate.
Let Go & Let Loose
Forget all of the negativity around you, because its a ticket to a bad mood. Prioritize yourself, and your life. If someones bringing you down, cut them off and breath. Everyone is not your friend, or to trust. So remember to stay open, and friendly, propelling the bad vibes away.
Having guy problems? What I like to do is figure out what makes me happy. If you’re cons of a relationship are larger then the pros, then maybe it’s time to rethink about your relationship. You know what they say, a healthy mind is a positive one!
True Story :
My friend explained to me the countless times she spent on this guy who never acknowledged her. He would ignore her for weeks, and would show lack of care. months after they stopped talking, she focused on herself, and eventually the guy came running back. Remember that sometimes its important to keep the past behind you.
Strings attached ? Think Again!
No one said there had to be strings attached in a relationship, if thats what you want to call it. Sometimes casual dating is the perfect recipe on a warm night out. I don’t know about you, but I like to consider my options. So get yourself out there, because if you aren’t moving someone else will be.
Enjoy the connections you make, and make sure you have fun at it. I love an open mic night, wether its poetry, song-written, or a story. Its always been so interesting how others view the world, so get involved!
If you were to tell me all the fun I’ve had so far at the age of Twenty, I would have called out “lies”. Since I grew a year older, I’ve had countless explorations of my youth. This year is the year of empowerment, where I reclaim myself from others. CRAZY, fun, party. Thats the description of these past few months. I’ve learned not to be mislead by my impulses, and mistaken judgement. I’ve also learned to embrace RISK. Something every human needs a bit of, all it takes is courage to push yourself to the edge.
I’ve cried myself to sleep also this year. Allowing the negativity to consume me whole. All it takes is the motivation to want to do more, for you to actually do it. So Push yourself, no matter what it’s in.
Taking full responsibility of yourself may seem like a no brainer at times, but it sure as hell can be hard! I’ve failed, and failed, until I finally succeeded. So my advice to you, is to be wise on all the decision you make. After making the move to live on my own, my independence has flourished. That’s what Twenty’s are for. Figuring out where the recklessness will end, and how you can get over it. Push yourself, and you’ll succeed.
What Im Wearing
Speaking of wearing, did I mention this outfit was thrifted? I’ve always loved a good game of cat and mouse, and the thrift store always has something I tend to want. If you need advice on getting the right look for you, having healthy spending habits will keep you cute and comfortable.
